Well Iam thinking about putting a 440 in a 68 barracuda, can anybody tell me the hard parts I will need to start looking for. For example oil pan ? Exhaust ? Engine and trans mounts or anything else you can think of. Also any tricks of the trade that you have found out along the way. I am new to the RB engine in an a body, thanks in advance.

What engine was in the car to start with? Personally on my demon which had a v8 to start I purchased a DC k frame which uses the spool mounts. If I were to do it again I'd just find me a 73 up spool mount k frame and build my own. If you can weld it's not too complicated. Also may want to check for sales here. Someone had a set of Schumacher headers for sale. I'm setting mine up with TTIs and they are still snug. I guess the biggest thing is what are your plans for the car?

You may want to ask RaniDart70, she's known for putting 440 4 speeds into Darts etc...

She's also very knowledgeable.

Go with the Schumacher mounts, it makes it pretty easy to drop a big block in after you do a little work to the driver side mount on the K-member for oil pump clearance. You can also go with a motor plate since its going to be a drag car.. For the oil pan you will need a#699 or #187 to fit right for the steering idler arm. On some cars the oil pan make need a little work for the idler arm not to hit. Now for your exhaust, depends on how fast you are planning on going. Schumacher has very good short header that works great. I have been using this header down to 11.50s. TTI makes a better flowing header if you plan on going faster.

Fenderwell headers can flow a little better but restrict the size of front tire you can run. I made my own elephant ear mounts and had the water pump housung milled. The pasenger mount is kinda "U" shaped and offset just enough to allow both stock alternator brackets and a mechanical fuel pump.
