I'll say again that I like my Stealth heads. And I drive my car. Hard. I had them cnc ported, valve job,, springs, keepers, locks replaced to keep up with my Hughes STL3842 solid lifter cam. I've walked away from several newer Camaro ss and Mustang GTs. They are a solid option to consider along with TF and Edelbrock.
Long time lurker here, I'm mostly on Moparts, FBBO, etc. Reviewed all 9 pages of detail and found something funny, that no one called out, that makes me giggle. Summation of one portion of this conversation: Merica, buy Merican, China is the devil, Mericans should be ashamed of themselves for buying Chinese parts; hey, check out this cool Japanese, rotary car that I used to own.

I have no issue with anyone liking Japanese cars, or any car for that matter. Do what you do, who cares what others think, do what makes you happy. Same thing with parts purchases. I try to buy American when I can but, have bought non-American parts too. I bet at some point, I will own some Stealth heads. I was the guy who sunk money into iron heads though too, have a set of cnc ported 906's. Again, buy what you want and who cares what others say. I just found it comical that there was a strong opinion voiced to support American products, etc. and come to find out, the guy was rocking a non-American car. Again, no hate on what car one chooses to build, etc. The rotary engines are rather impressive to me, some make a lot of power. Not my thing but, to each their own. I can still look at a car and appreciate craftsmanship, etc., even if it's not my thing. My Mopar is a 69 Road Runner. Bench seat, column shift car; nothing special. Have all the numbers matching parts but, have been running a 470 for the past 10 or so years. Just a nice driver car. Have a few Mustangs and some square body Chevy's too. I like a lot of different cars.

I'm sure it's been posted in one of the 200+ replies above, but I didn't see it with a quick scan. Engine masters did a BBM cylinder head shootout. The 440 Source heads made ~15 hp more than stock 516's, or maybe 906 head? The Edelbrock made ~15hp more than the 440 source and the Trick flows made ~15hp more than the Edelbrocks.
I saw that episode, very informative and basically confirms what most of us already know. Stealths are an affordable aluminum copy of iron heads with some slight improvements, nothing more nothing less.
And every test is different depending upon the build of the engine. I think Dwayne already mentioned the same earlier. I did a test on a 7.9:1 compression 440 where I swapped stock 906 heads for a set of ported 516 heads that flowed 250 cfm @ .500" lift. The engine went from 450 LB-FT and 387 HP to 473 LB-FT and 449 HP. A test by someone else has nothing to do with the results you may see. Engine builders with exactly the same parts will get different results from each other. In our shop if we only saw a 15 HP increase from a stock 906 head to Stealth heads we had a major screw up with the engine some where.
I'm skeptical of the validity of this information as well. If the Source heads only produced 15 more..the eddys 15 more again and then a cnc ported trick flow only 45 more than stock must be the crappiest cnc job in history thats pretty expensive hp in my opinion. Not exactly a good sales pitch for Trick flow either.
It was a pretty mild cam and short block they tested on iirc, I mean 450-500 HP is not much from a 440 these days. I think they mentioned this in the episode, if they were using a bigger cam and more compression there would have been more gains with the "bigger" heads. I think it's a useful takeaway that better-flowing heads alone won't do a whole lot for power if the rest of the combo doesn't take full advantage of the flow.
