I am going with aftermarket gauges and would like to use the 2-wire speed sensor connector to trigger the speedometer.
Can you tell me if the connection is ground and signal, or voltage and signal? I don’t really want to destroy a new speedometer.
I bought a aftermarket 2-wire plug that fits with black & white wires.
In the close-up photo, the white wire would be on the left and the black wire on the right.

That’s a VR sensor and produces an AC sign wave signal.

Thank you. So if AC, it doesn’t matter?
This is the AutoMeter diagram. The “hi” side they are showing is connected to the speedometer “signal” connection.

I can assume white is signal and black is ground and should be OK?
