Looking for a drive shaft for my 69 Barracuda. According to the service manual, a 904 and 8 3/4 combination came with a 49.27" driveshaft.

Thanks, Wolfgang

That's out of the 69 service manual:

My transmission is not in yet, but I am very positive that the drive shaft I currently have, (44.88) will be too short.

The 44.88 inch driveshaft is very desireable. Sold one for $200 last year. As far as the 7260 and 7290 u-joint difference there is a dual pattern one made that is very strong, I used it in a 69 Dart drag car years ago when I had to change the pumpkin...

Well, I have one in excellent condition, rust-free, balanced with the transmission slide in yoke (727) and U-joints. Would gladly trade or sell it, because I can't cut it longer :)

Thanks for bringing this up, how much would that be?

I don’t remember the dimensions but the small one, the 7260 has caps that are quite a bit smaller than the 7290. Very obvious side by side. As mentioned earlier, you can buy a u joint that is half and half. Or you can change the yoke on the rearend. That is what I did because I had one available. Didn’t have to buy a u joint that way.
