Does anyone know if a 64 timing chain cover from a 64 170 will fit on a 70 225 block?

I need a timing chain cover with the timing marker on it if i want to be able to get my timing set right the easy way.

on a 70 i think it should have the bolt on pointer, goes on the dowel pin and under the bolt head.

will it work? yes will the "pointer" line up properly, i dont think so as its opposite as i remember

70 has the weld-on pointer.
64 has the bolt-on pointer.

Use a 70 timing cover with the 70 damper. If you are using the 64 damper, use the bolt-on tab from the 64 cover, you don't need to swap covers, you will just have two timing marks.

But while the engine is out you might want to change the front seal.
