Anyone have any advice on restoring the visibility of the numbers and letters on the push buttons?

White model car paint, small brush, paint the head of the button filling the numbers with white paint, immediately rub off the surface of the button, leaving fresh white paint in the numbers. Put a small amount of paint thinner on the rag if you need to. You can do the same thing with the black plastic bezels for the switches (I think the 64 still has them, I know the 63 does).

I have thought about this, but have been hesitant to try
Thanks!

Holy cow.... i wish it was that easy on a 64 B-body

Also,

The bakelite the arms are made of will have a coating of crud on them. Remove them and clean them up and it will increase the brightness of the pushbutton.

I used a black model paint on the ends of the buttons and quickly cleaned out the letter/ number, leaving the letter/ number clear, and therefore, brighter.
