65 barracuda torsion bars

Hi everyone
Trying to remove both torsion bars and having one he__ of a time getting them to budge in any way I know their is probably and hopefully a fairly simple solution to this. I know we are missing something. Thanx in advance for any help

I assume you removed the retaining ring from the torsion bar crossmember? There is also a tool you can clamp on to hit with a BFH.

Yes the clips are out . Really frustrating lol

If you aren’t reusing those bars, you could put some big vise grips on and hammer that to back it out. Some say gouges in a torsion makes them junk though.

I ended up dropping my LCA with the torsion bar still attached. Then I pounded on the LCA to separate them. I was removing the whole front suspension anyway.
