65' Cuda Small electrical box on the top of my ashtray under the dash?

What is the small box that snaps into a clip that sits above the ashtray under the dash? Flasher relay? Should it be replaced?

is that not the footwell lamp? Is it a physical relay looking thingy on a bracket?
