Good afternoon,

I recently bought a 1965 cuda with the 2BBL 273 motor..... It has had a recent rebuild on it up to stock specs. I was wondering what parts are available to give the engine a little more juice (as this is not mopars most abundant engine.....lol). I was thinking a different set of heads and intake manifold with a 4BBL carb would give me a little more!

However after doing a little reading I understand that the intake manifold has special angled bolts in it but understand that it can be mitigated by using an intake manifold and heads from a 318 or other small block. Or should I look for an intake and heads off of a commando version? (although I dont have the domed pistons for the higher compression)

What I would like to know if this is actually true and if anyone has done this. also if so is it really worth the cash to do it? or should a person just buy a 318 with all the mods done already and drop it in. I am open to any suggestions on what to do!

Thanks in advance!

Jeff

Jeff, IMO, I'd would not do the 273 up and make the jump to a larger engine than a 318.
