65 Dart single wire to magnum alternator?

Also another issue.....
had old style reg. which burnt out ecu.
zbut was charging.
now aftermarket proper 2 terminal
reg. no charge?
Was told aftermarket regs. garbage.
gotta be be reg?
any quik bench test on reg?

With one of two field posts grounded, hook 12V to the other field. You should see a small spark. Should charge be careful of voltage with RPM. RPM should bring up voltage. You can also just remove the VR and jumper the two wires together and do the same thing. If it charges the VR is bad OR NOT GROUNDED

Ok now Im getting pissed.
Jumped New VR alt. charging. Great.
Wired as is no charge. Test light from Battery + to VR housing 12 volts?????????


Even put jumper wire from Bat.- to VR housing????????
