The original speedo seized long ago, as the thing dried out I suspect. Anyone have a technical reference on the insides of the speedo, specifically the threaded area (where the cable plugs in)? I pulled the brass cup and have been dripping pen. oil in it, but want to know what it looks like inside so I can try to free it. Is it just a solid core and brass/bronze bushing?

Un-seized..... heat gun, FP10 gun lube (that has the annoying habit of eating locktite out of barrel threads :-O) and then electric contact cleaner, PB Blaster, and a modest amount of heat from a heat gun on the area around the oil cup (careful not to over heat it or fry the odometer plastic gears). Used compressed air in the oil cup to gently force oil into it.... Got it moving and freed up and now seems to run just fine.
