Dig the dana!I think you are a second too fast at least. My buddy Ed has a 372 stroker in his Barracuda and runs 6.90's (11.10 1/4's)

.... or, the guardrail!Well when you add 300HP at the touch of a button the chit can really hit the fan.
Same difference. lol.... or, the guardrail!
@toolmanmike , got any idea what that thing weighs?I think you are a second too fast at least. My buddy Ed has a 372 stroker in his Barracuda and runs 6.90's (11.10 1/4's)

Or... build an eleven second combo, and THEN hit it with a 300 shot. (NOT budget anymore... but FAST!)Stock 5.9 Mag and a 300 plate shot. The screaming definition of budget.
Well sure. But all these guys come on here wanting "budget" this and "budget" that. Nitrous is THE SINGLE MOST budget friendly go fast there is. There is no other better bang for the buck, yet when you bring it up, suddenly it's taboo. lolOr... build an eleven second combo, and THEN hit it with a 300 shot. (NOT budget anymore... but FAST!)
as long as the budget includes additional motors, sure. why not!Stock 5.9 Mag and a 300 plate shot. The screaming definition of budget.

One of my old cars belongs to a buddy of mine now, 70 duster, full real street car, full interior, heat ect, has a glass hood, and car weighs right at 3180 plus 180 for driver, it runs 6.80s at 102 mph in the 1/8th. I built the engine, it's a simple combo. It's a stock stroke 340, icon flat top pistons, 9.8 to 1 pump gas deal. Has a set of old W2s I ported, a 640 lift solid roller, tunnel ram and 2 750 carbs. And a good converter. Just for referenceBasically, if any of you guys can provide examples of cars and set ups that you’ve seen that have been able to run that number. I’m just looking for ideas and guidelines for things that have worked in the past.
Progressive controllers tame that beast.Well when you add 300HP at the touch of a button the chit can really hit the fan.
Nice. That I don't@toolmanmike , got any idea what that thing weighs?
Not true! They'll last a long time with the right tune. No wonder people are skeered.as long as the budget includes additional motors, sure. why not!
A lot. I’m going to ask mine to make north of 900.was just curious what the magnum is capable of with a good camshaft and a really good top end
Puzackly. I have a friend who had exactly that on a stone stock bottom end 5.0 in a Fox body rustang. Along with...wait for it...a Vortec supercharger. Runnin high 10s. It had a lot more in it but he enjoyed it and didn't want to break anything. He never broke it because he had the tune right. I believe a friend I grew up with has that exact motor in one of his rustangs now. I think it's still in there. I haven't talked to him in a while. I have him on Facebook and he wouldda had it all over that place if he had swapped motors. If you put a 300 shot on ANYTHING you better have your poop in a group.
If that's directed at me yes. I've driven one that went 9.80s.Not to be an idiot, but, have you ever driven a mid 10's car? 65
here is my 355''. this is a good example of what it takes.I’ve had a few members sending me messages asking about the 340 that was in my car. Most don’t believe it’s not a roller cam or roller rockers. It’s not a 4” stroker either, old 355” kit from Direct Connection years ago. Here is a few pictures to show the SFT and ductile rockers. It’s all about the combo and if the engine is happy.
Rundown of what’s in the 340

Indy single plane intake
Hughes off the shelf SFT cam. See picture for cam specs
Ductile iron rockers
Smith Brothers pushrods
Kevko rear sump oil pan
I built the headers
Rest of the car rundown,

It'll do it, too. I have a friend right down the road who has one of those Chevy trucks with the "angry lookin" headlights...I forget what year range that is. Really hideous, IMO, but the truck is badass. LS of course. I THINK it's a 6.2, but it's got a turbo on it bout twice the size of my head. That's BIG. LOL He "says" it put down over 1200HP to the wheels. I've seen him playin around with it and I don't doubt it.A lot. I’m going to ask mine to make north of 900.
Nope, the OP. 65If that's directed at me yes. I've driven one that went 9.80s.
