All I can at is WOW! Our postal system has recognized that packages are what's going to keep them afloat ((maybe) so they are aggressively going after the package market. I always go online and have a carrier pickup done - saves me from having to go to the PO, find a parking spot and wait for a clerk to serve you. As a former mail carrier I take advantage of all the services I can! I'll even leave a check with my carrier for stamps and she'll either leave them right then or bring them the next day!

I've never been able to understand why government run postal services weren't able to remain competitive with companies such as UPS or FedEx. You'd think that their infrastructure built over all the years would have made them the ones impossible to compete against. I guess it goes to show that private companies must be being better managed when there is an incentive to succeed.

As I understand it, the Postal Service would be competitive with UPS/FedEx if they didn't have to meet a Congressional mandate to pre-fund future retiree's retirement and/or health care! Apparently no other government agency is required to do that. No wonder the Post Office is running in the red! OK Back to Anders' thread!

Sorry for continuing to sidetrack your thread Anders. So Dartman, doesn't it make you wonder why the government continues down such a fiscally irresponsible course when the evidence shows cataclysmic consequences? If what you're saying is accurate you'd think someone would have run the numbers by now and made changes to policy. I'm definitely no genius and I would hope that most gov officials are smarter than me. If not we're in even more serious trouble than I've thought.

I'm no genius either and personally I think some government officials are as dumb as a box of rocks and most don't have a clue. Serious trouble ain't the word for it! OK, back to the thread! I guess Anders' box is somewhere between Copenhagen and Stockholm.

I don't mind the side track. I think it is very difficult to change the entire purpose and culture of any organization. Going from state run monopoly to competing and generating revenue is an incredible transformation and it affects every employee. So much is turned upside down and the mindset has to be altered in thousands of people.

I think it is doomed to failure in every instance.

Now, whether corporate or state run mail services are the best, that is a little too much of a political issue, I think.

Alright! Scored a set of Magnum exhaust manifolds for $60 plus shipping. Looks like they are the large diameter ones, a little over 2" outlet. :thumblef:

Feels good. The original 273 manifolds are puny.

The passenger side one shouldent be a problem. Drivers side might be if you had power steering , which you do not. Still may have to grind a little to make her fit. Good score for $50.

Its so funny, last time i hit the boneyard, theres rows and rows of magnum engined B series vans and pickups with these manifolds on them. Anders if you went to my local boneyard you would go nuts. The owner lets me drive my pickup up and down the rows of junkers to get what i need. I take my floor jack, and an old galley cart beverage tray full of tools. I work right off my tailgate. I have known Gene for 20 years. I guess membership has its priveledges.

    That sounds like Nirvana, Matt.

Who on here was it that renovates these? I've seen a thread on the subject. I'm curious about the outlet diameter and what he wrote about that.

Oh, and I found a billet crank pulley too! $35. I think it's too long but I can shorten it to whatever length I want, unlike a stamped steel one.

I believe that would be member Treblig who does the manifolds. At one time he was looking for a nearby member who would test fit some manifolds on an early A Body.

Quite correct, Don. He believes I might run into trouble with my starter. We'll see. They're bought and paid for ... So typical me. :banghead:

Nows the time to get a mopar magnum V8 nippondenso mini starter LOL..

About 8 pounds weight and small, probably ship pretty cheaply. Got mine rebuilt cheap. $39 EBAY, no core reqd. Internals and solenoid are standardized. Higher torque, more HP, lighter, easier for replacement parts. If you end up needing one, just sell your other one to pay for one of these.

    Check ebay #380551888488

I bought mine from these people awhile back, however price must have went up. This is the type to look for. They advertize free shipping, see if they will free ship to Sweden.

Yesterday I PayPal:ed 340swinger70 for the little inspection cover on the transmission dust cover for my 727 that was missing when I bought it here in Sweden. He'll be sending it straight to me. Great!

I've been kind of down this week so really nothing has been done to the car. Bought a jug of super de-greaser to try and get the Holley clean. Most of the parts have been soaking for a few days. Today I'll start cleaning it off and hopefully putting the rest of it in the same goo.

Better put those parts in zip lock bags before you have to crawl on the floor to find them.

Don´t ask me why I suggest that.

Or spread them out over the kitchen table! I tried that once and my wife had a BIG problem with it! I can't imagine why!

I see your package has left Swedish customs! Maybe you will get it tomorrow!:D
