If anyone has this portion of a dash frame that you're willing to part with I'm interested.

Valiant(non rally) and Cuda (rally) won't work in a swap situation and it would be a shame to ruin the valiant frame for a small corner piece.

Would this frame work? Not mine but good price.
[FOR SALE] - 1967 Plymouth Valiant dash frame

I would go this way all day long!

You couldn't get someone to weld patches in yours for this price!!

Damm! I missed that Steve!

Thought I was looking a Dart non rally frame.

That frame is roached.. If it was me I would find a good used one in much better condition.. 67-69 all had the key in dash and gives you a few more years to swap with. I have a complete rust free later non rallye dash I can cut the corner from, but you'd be better suited getting a cleaner frame.

68 and 9 have differences. Vin#'s for 1.

Yes, or if your swapping frames and thought enough to weld said corners Ie own/or know a welded 1 could make the mods a later dash required.

If your welding corners then he's using his 67 frame right? And won't need to worry about vin tags...

All 3 years of barracuda rallye dash frames are different
A few differences each year
Dash pads
Ash tray
Radio
Glove box lid hinges
Vin
I have a good 67 frame if needed

Mr. Mouse built a nest above the glove box hence the rotted corner. As well the pee ran down to where the frame and support are welded together causing some non structural rust.It also has a few extra holes in the bottom but easy to plug with the MIG otherwise it has surface rust but is in good condition. I can fab and fix but at least 2 days work (probably more). The dash pad is original and perfect as is the steering wheel.

The car is being resto moded, Gen III hemi swap and will either have a modern Challenger instrument cluster planted in the dash frame or possibly aftermarket gages. In either case I suspect I will end up modding the instrument cluster area of the dash.

I'm not familiar with all the variations on 67 - 69's so was thinking repairing this frame would prevent suprises later do to my lack of knowledge. So my primary concerns are reinstalling the original dash pad, glove box / hinges, and reinstalling the dash frame into the 67 Barracuda preferrably without mods.

If I were to get another 67 Valiant or Barracuda dash frame what differences should I look out for?

Thanks for all the great input.

You know 64, that's not that difficult of a repair , especially if you are good with a Mig welder.

If the rest is pristine, repair it.

The dash pad is going to cover a lot of it anyway.

Take a look at 67 Valiant dash. It would change the gauge setup ENTIRELY. Meaning you no longer have a rally dash. You would be left with plain standard dash.
Get the one from Barracudakid if it's a good price. 68 has dash pads all around the perimeter, so those holes would need filling. Ashtrays for 68 are unobtainable and like mentioned there are quite a few subtle differences that can turn into hurdles. You "found" the correct year in one day, that's a win. Somebody else will buy it if you don't.

1967 is one year only for several reasons. 1968 or 69 are different. I have a beat up 67 Dart frame with a good corner. I'd have to check fitment with a 67 Barracuda glovebox door.

The damaged portions of the dash frame were media blasted yesterday. The upper portion had no suprises. The lower portion had several holes in the skin but the bracing and bracket are Okay. The lower portion is still strong so could easily be repaired with a layer of fiberglass on the inside and filler on the outside. I'm going to chew on this a while before choosing a solution but kind of hoping to find a glove box portion of the dash frame that I can split down the center of the glove box and weld together.
