'67 Fry Fix

Got the seats installed, kinda sorta.

These are marketplace ProCar finds with modified ProCar mounts.

Seats were in a Chevy square body, and the mounts were spec'd for a different make/model and modified to fit the square body by the po.

I put the driver's seat in the 'correct' position, where the steering wheel is offset to the right.
Annoying, and all lopsided on the floor.

Pushed it over and centered with the steering wheel and the seat mount sat perfectly on the floor.

I made some nice mounts to bolt it to the factory bench seat holes and welded them up.

Last 2 pics, no mounts/bolts on the inside, yet, but seats are in, need a few minor adjustments, but in!

Will finish up tomorrow.

Filters are done.

I originally wrapped the screen top to bottom, but the filters wouldn't fit inside the chrome top/bottom.

I folded over the edges to prevent it unraveling, wrapped it around the filter, then twisted both ends together using locking ties until the screen was tight.

Scoop filter was just wrapped like a present.

Sprayed with K&N oil.

Hopefully that keeps bugs from getting embedded in the filters.

I bought those locking ties decades ago, and finally found a use for them.

3 point seatbelts.
67 doesn't have the mounting points in the roof.

I've seen a few variations, using a pic I downloaded from here.

Judging by that, the bolt hole is on the same plane as the lower section, so I drilled 2 holes, used a body saw to make 3 cuts, and bent it down.

A nut welded to a thick plate, inserted behind, then welded to the roof.

It was dang sturdy, but I went back and cut filler pieces for the sides, and made it pretty ugly, but it's solid.

That roof metal doesn't like weld, and where the bottom plug welds are, there was something on the backside. Not sure if it was glue or debris or mouse stuff, but it burnt up good.

I had cleaned it out with a vacuum and hose beforehand. Dunno.

I can go back and make it beautiful, no one will ever see it anyway, when I fix the floor.

Still need to finish the seat brackets, 2 days left.
