These cars have always been on my top 10 list. I never really thought that I would stubble upon one though. We'll I just stumbled across two! I've never seen any that weren't already done or complete disasters. Both of these cars are complete, clean, and reasonable drivers.

The first is a 67 GTX. Original 440 auto, buckets, console. This car is pretty clean top to bottom. It needs ZERO panel replacement! It may need some attention to the rear window gutter area(no big deal though). The interior is complete and pretty nice. It runs and drives well. All the trim is there and good.

The second car is a 67 Satellite. Original 383, 4 speed, bucket, console car. This car is even cleaner than the other one.

Now both of these cars are complete and are from a reliable seller. Both cars are 52yrs old and are far from show cars, but are both surviving drivers. Both cars will need to be disassembled, attention given, cleaned up, ect.

I already have his asking prices. I never thought I would be in this position so I am pretty uneducated on the market. What would you more educated guys guess?

I'll say that I never in a million years thought I could own one of these cars. I thought these were "rich guy" cars. I put them in the same category as Cudas, Boss Mustangs, ect. His prices have me really excited. I can buy one of these cars, fix it up easily, and not feel guilty about it.

I agree with what 4spd said 15-20k. Cool finds and hard to find not all rotted away. I’ve had my 67 Belvedere for awhile. Here it is currently sitting in garage lol

          Ok. I can't wait.

He wants $10k firm for the GTX, and $6k for the Satellite.

I think I gotta go B body! If I do... I promise I won't start wearing tennis visors, drinking cappachino, or getting my eyebrows waxed.

always a lot of opinions about prices of cars, plenty of online price guides as well. When I look at a car its based on what I want and what Im gonna do with it, if I think its reasonable on price that's all that matters. If your looking for investment cars, then price does matter more and what others opinions are matter more. at least this is my .02 worth

They are not for sale publicly. I can't really justify buying both. I also care very little for matching numbers, ect. I am more interested in a car that I can drive, put a can of beer on the hood, test and tune, ect.

I'm having a hard time walking away from a real, numbers matching GTX though.

GTX definitely going to be worth more in the long run. Satellite pretty much the same car that year had most the same interior pieces. The 4spd car would be a blast to drive around.

I am not a resto, numbers guy. Either car will get the engine yanked(set in the corner), wheels, spring relocation, ect.

For whatever reason I am leaning towards the GTX. I realize that it should be restored ect, but I really think the whole "numbers matching" thing is running it's course. Surely I won't be the first idiot to hack up a GTX.

No, but you will be one of the few if you do it in this day and age. Original, numbers matching cars aren't falling out of trees these days, like they were in the 70's/80's. They will always bring more money, when done right, than a hacked up street machine. If it is a true, numbers matching GTX, then leave it alone, and hack-up the Satellite if you must, and pass the GTX info onto someone who will do it right.

I really don't see the point anymore. I'll actually drive it 5-10K a year. Car seats in the back, setting off car alarms, ect. The days of numbers cars sitting in old farts garages is drawing to an end. The market of buyers is shrinking for sure.

Seems reasonable if they're solid. One of my favorite body styles.

Really? Do you ever watch Barrett-Jackson? See what numbers cars go for? If you think the numbers matching market is dwindling, you are sadly mistaken. If you "don't see the point anymore", leave the GTX to someone who still does see the point, and appreciates a numbers car. You must be way younger than me if you have that outlook. I'm an old fart...and my numbers matching car sits in my garage...and I'm NOT alone on this site, either. Go to Haggerty's site and compare what a numbers car is worth compared to a street machine. I think you'll be surprised.

I am not hung up on numbers matching either , most of the time people have to drop their price to sell them around here ,unless u run into some one w/ $ that really wants it .
The 66-67 belvedere /sat./ gtx unibodies are some of the best unibodies ever built . I had two , very solid , even after twisting one w/ a hemi so bad the doors wouldn`t close !

That is a great body style with the trim. I would somehow try to buy both. If not both at least the GTX.

I would buy the GTX for 10K fix get it running good and drive it as is. They where good and fast enough. There will always be someone faster anyway.

I'd want the 4-speed Satellite. Cheaper to start with, and do whatever you want to it. More fun with the stick! No guilt trips either (real or imaginary).

                                    GTX all the way!!!

One point though...there is no such thing as a "numbers-matching" 67. They were all date coded up until mid 68 MY.

Good luck with whatever you pick!

The GTX would be more desirable if you were to re-sell someday.

As far as show cars, I believe that people like to see cars that are in original condition, not necessarily perfect condition. For example, we have a '70 Duster 340 that is original with lots of scratches, dings and far from perfect. More people stopped to look at that car than they did our '69 Satellite that is very nice.
