Hey guys
I just thought I'd share my 68 barracuda steering wheel resto..
I have a car show ID like to go to tomorrow so I started a little steering wheel resto today at 1:00..
The wheel had 7 or 8 cracks I cleaned and filled with bondo followed by a quick prime.. ( I had 2 part epoxy but the cure time didn't fit my window ) I don't usually rush jobs but this one I did..
I used a paint called tremclad "chestnut" and it seams to be the exact match if anyone is looking..
Hopefully it will dry good before morning lol...

Nice looking. Hope that bondo doesnt crack on ya.
I went into this expecting it to be a temporary fix.. the longer it lasts the better.. I'll do it right one day.. I'm more excited about the color match..
I'm hoping some company eventually repops a 2 piece woodgrain wheel you can simply screw on your existing wheel frame.
It might already exist? Not sure.

That would be nice. Then no matter what color wheel you have, woodgrain would be an option.

Made it to the car show.. with a Kinda tacky steering wheel lol.

Decades ago those wheels with the wood gran, we revamped them with a hack saw blade. But ya can't go crazy with 10 coats of paint either!!

I put 2-3 coats .. it was so humid yesterday I had to put the AC on in the garage to help cure the paint lol
