Hey guys I have been doing the basics of wrenching on my beater cars and I have just scored my first restoration project, a 67 dart. I am pretty inexperienced at this kinda stuff so Ill be going real slow and doing all the research I can, but for now heres some pics of what I got and what I want to do.
I have to fix the brakes. kind of mushy. My mechanic friend said to do the master cylinder but he also suggested I look into getting a brake booster so I can have power brakes too, maybe comes in a kit.
It also has an exhaust leak so I am losing some power too. I guess I can patch that.
It also has a little trouble getting started for the first time in the morning. Understandable for an old engine but I would like to fix that too.
Body wise Im in good shape but its gotta get a new hood. glass is all intact, good shape. Misc interior stuff like all of the instrument panel stuff is all toast but that's kind of the last thing I want to deal with. For right now its getting it in good drivability and then body, and then interior.
Anyone got any idea on where to point me for a good braking kit? Some of the lines got done but not all of them. thanks.
