I picked this up least week, is it a project? Depends on who you ask I guess. I wanted a “finished” project but I think most of us can agree that they are never really finished or it’s as close as finished to what I would like in a car. The information below is what I received from the previous owner, who received it from the previous owner who built it. If anyone knows who built this car let me know. I was told they were from San Jose, CA.
- 318 w/ RPM Performer manifold, Holley 750 double pumper
- Lunati cam adv.duration 290/290 @.050 240/240 lift .520/.520
- Forged Pistons brand?
- Stock iron heads w/ minor polish (heads/manifold port matched)
- Doug’s long tube headers, 3” exhaust w/ Black Widow mufflers
- 46RH overdrive transmission 2200 stall converter
- Ford 9” 3.54 gears 31 spline axles Detroit locker
- mini tub w/ spring relocation
- front/rear disc brakes
- stock front suspension manual steering
- stock fuel tank w/ mechanical pump
- 15x3” Front 15x10” rear Billet Specialties wheels

It runs great, idles fine at stop lights without needing to give it gas. The overdrive on the freeway is what makes it a great driver.. I think it revs around 2000 rpm at 70-75. The skinnies up front are OK, I’m just careful around turns and corners. Maybe put 15x6” up front for the street. There are small thing to improve, found some burned wires due to the headers. They should have installed straight boots not 90 degree. The exhaust is a little too loud in the neighborhood so I’m thinking of having it extended over the axle out back. The paint is not perfect at all, it was a rather poor job but I wasn’t out to buy the car because of the paint.

Looks killer. How much did you pay?

J.

I like the color. I always prefered the side stripes over the Bumble Bee too. Great starting point to play around with. As said all the hard work is done. Sorry I don't care for the black engine compartment though JMO.
Enjoy!
