My 68 trunk panel is too pitted to restore. Are there any decent examples of these panels out there for sale? I'm thinking of welding up the holes and painting it like my old Swinger.

I saw two at the Mopar show in Norwalk last year....doubt they are plentiful but they are around

Is that Norwalk Conn.? I liked my painted panel on my 69 340, but thought the next owner might object to a GTS without one. Of course they could always open the holes back up. They are a bunch of money to restore. Outside of the pitting, it has very little damage.

They are around $500 for a new one, and a long wait also. My friend just received his new one for his 69 GTS, nice piece. He had to wait about 4-5 months to get it. Classic Industries has them for 68's also. It may be worth just buying a repo one than trying to find a nice original. Maybe you can fix the pitting in yours using solder or something similar?

Where in California are you located? A friend of mine may still have one that he was looking to sell.

Can you provide a link to the 68 panels? I'm not finding the listing

I hope you're right, but can't find a listing. To clarify, we're talking about the wide molded aluminum panel that attaches to the vertical panel on the rear of the trunk lid.

I just looked in the Classic catalog. Page 272 of the latest one. It only has the 69 Dart GTS trunk finish panel. Sorry about that.

I did some checking, and you are correct, so I'll get a newer catalog. I talked to a rep at CI; had her check to see if 68 panels may be in the pipeline, and they don't know of any such plans. I will try to find out who the subcontractor is, to get info from them. Thanks for your input of info!

I do know that the panel my friend got for his 69, was in an OER box, & was made in Taiwan. Very nice piece, though a long wait to get it.

Thank you for the information. Lots of delays in items. I ordered door cards/panels from Legendary Jan. 9th, and they told me today they won't be done until the end of Sept.!
