I just finished a rotisserie restoration of my 68 340 4 speed. I was approximately a 6 year project collecting all 68 340 parts and restoring every nut and bolt on the car.

Nice! Somewhere between a restoration and a restomod. Kind of like my M code Valiant if they made them.

Nice job on that car. Dash and scoops look like they came on the car. Also like the Magnum 500's. A Valiant only some of us could dream of. The 4 spd just puts it over the top. They should have made this car from the factory. Just like yours.

I never understood why they didn't make a light weight valiant muscle car in 68 and 69. An SS Hemi Valiant would have been very cool and much lighter then the Barracuda.

A friend of mine 69383valiant has a a 69. People always think its a Nova. Once my son moves to his new shop we'll be giving it a face lift. I like the 69's . He has the parts we just need space right now.

Thank you much for comments, I agree with you that they should have made these that way.

I keep coming back and looking at the pictures. You did a really nice job on that car. I just noticed the Exhaust tips. Doesn't get better then this. The only thing I would like to see changed is the name on the title to the car to me . Keep it pristine! And don't let your kids drive it. LOL

I am still breaking the engine in, 23 miles. I'm getting it insured for a stated value today so I can start driving it soon!

Fantastic job 4 speedin! Great attention to details and it looks as if it was Chrysler produced. Just a question. Are you considering a front swaybar in the future?

Yes I am, I have a restored front and rear sway bar for the car. I made a rookie mistake as I purchased 73 to 76 lower control arms w sway bar tabs and of coarse I have a 68-72 K member. I don't want to take it apart but I believe I will be carefully cutting off the tabs and re-welding new ones on it the correct location. This was my first Mopar resto so I am learning from my mistakes. I tried to make it as if it were a factory 340 car, I also put the front and rear torque boxes as well.

Cool! Love all the little details you took care of including the rallye dash, unsilenced air cleaner, battery and the hood scoop openings. Awesome job for first time!!

One observation that you may want to consider is blacking out the area behind the grill. Adds a lot of definition to the front of the car by making the grill assembly that you obviously spent a lot of time on stand out more. This was done on most mopars back in the day.

Thank you all so much for the comments and feedback! I was not sure if they did that or not and didn't look into that at all but it would likely look nicer. what cars did they do that on?
Mike
