Wondering what people use in the front and back, wheel and tire wise. Looking to buy bigger wheels and tires and getting conflicting info on what will and won’t fit. I’d like 15 x 8 and debating between 4 and 4.5 backspace. Car will have stock location springs. May convert brakes to disc both front and back. Thanks.

measure the backspacing for yourself. ALWAYS error on the side of too much backspacing.

I can only tell you what tire fits under a dart with stock springs.

Error on too much, so I could always just use a spacer? So 4.5 over 4.

15X8 ramcharger rims on the back, 4 1/4 backspace, with 275/60-15's. 15X6.5 rims on the front, also 4 1/4 backspace, with 215/60-15's. The rears fit well with redrilled small bolt pattern axles. When I switched to aftermarket large bolt pattern axles it got tight on the wheel lip and I had to roll it a bit. I would go 4 1/2 for sure.

Beautiful car and beautiful stance. Those wheels look exactly how I want. You think everything will fit nicely with those tires and a 15 x 8 4.5?

Here's another angle. They fit but they are fairly tight. If I hit a sharp bump the edge of the tread will contact the inner fender where it slopes inward. You also have to watch the clearance to the front of your wheelwell at the rocker. Also the fronts are about as tall as you can go without rubbing the front edge of the fender on turns.

Mine are original factory rims I acquired over the years. You would need to check who makes them now.

The front of my 68 Barracuda will not accept a 14x8, no matter what the backspace, without rubbing somewhere.
          A 7" is no problem.
          A 7.5 with a 3.75bs will require a bit of "fitting".
          On the back,
almost anything goes up to 8.5. Then the bs becomes important. Mine are 4.5bs. If you move the springs, you can put 10s in there with a custom bs . If you narrow the rear, you can fit some off-the-shelf 10s; I narrowed my rear to the limit and 15x10s @4.5bs fit 325/50-15s with just a bit of "fitting".

But you’re confirming a 8 with 4.5 bs will work?

I just went thru this with my 69 notchback barracuda. I have an A-Body 8 3/4 rear (not sure what year car it came from as they do vary in width depending on the year from what I've read). But I went with a 15x8 with 4.5 backspacing with 275/60R15 Hankook tires in the rear. I ended up adding a 1/4" spacer so I have 1/2-9/16" space between the tire and leaf spring. Up front I still have stock drum brakes and went with a 15x6 with 4" backspacing and 205/70R15 Hankook tires. The tires were on the large side for the sizing and I didn't quite have the distance between the fender and tire like I thought I would so I rolled in the lower 2" of fender lip in to gain a little more clearance. Ended up with 1/2" which should be fine, but if I had to do over again I'd go with the 215/65R15 tires for the front.
