Replacing spider gears that the previous own had welded together. I got a new kit from motive gear and it came with this lock pin which is not going to fit. Previous owner used a wood screw. Suggestions? I've also found the right side spacer is cracked. Can I find a new spacer or just stack up the shims?

send the parts you bought back and don't waste your time and money on this unit ,,,from the looks of the case you have a scrap unit --- you can see the old lock bolt is sheared off and the welded spider gears have been rotating the shaft and destroyed the holes for the cross pin --- find another differential -- .
I think I have one if needed.
If you're willing to part with it I'd really appreciate that. Otherwise I can also extract the old bolt and thread the case for the newer lock bolt
Let me look and make sure I have it still. a beer and the ride will do it. That case looks pretty bad and you have no idea what it went through with welded gears, might have metal fatigue.
