New FABO member...Sorry-I’m kinduv old school and have never found time to be active in the forums. I guess it’s about time after 40+ years of playing with countless Mopars. Please be patient with me if I somehow mess up or don’t provide rapid response to questions, pics, etc. Thanks!

1970 Plymouth Duster “Semi-Survivor” 318/B5 Low Option Car!
****Please read entire ad*****
(I try to spell it all-out to answer as many questions as possible)

An unrestored/mostly unmolested (one repaint) garage-kept southern car....
I’m offering-up now before spring when I will continue to make repairs/improvements.
DRIVE ENJOY AS-IS NOW OR A NICE CLEAN-SLATE FOR A TRULY EASY PROJECT

THE GOOD:
NO SALT! APPEARS TO HAVE ALL IT’S ORIGINAL, NO-RUST SHEETMETAL:
fenders and aprons, doors, rockers, quarters, trunk extensions, etc., etc.
Great frame and as well in all areas where these cars are prone to rust.
Good glass and trim. Perfect original grille. Nice clean interior.
Solid floors were cleaned and POR painted. Repair patch in passenger footwell.
I have pictures showing exceptionally clean inner-structures: quarter/dog legs, wheel openings and door bottoms. No rust repair detected other than the floor.

This WAS an original B5 car that was repainted in a darker shade of blue over 20 years ago when it came to PA from Tennessee. Paint finish is mediocre at best, but this ‘ol Duster still turns heads going down the road. The factory-original B5 finish remains in the engine bay, jambs and trunk area. The original spare tire, bumper jack and trunk mat are in great shape. The blue interior is very clean and shows well. Correct for 1970 rally wheels have been added.
Truly a low-option, 1st year Duster w/pristine build sheet and fender tag.

Fewer than 500 miles the last 15 yrs. Only 150 miles since PA inspected last yr.
Showing 105k miles, generally a driver/survivor that was cared for and not abused.
Numbers matching 318/904/7.25 manual steer and brakes.
Runs, shifts, stops very good and does not smoke.

Newer Parts and Repairs:
Brand new Legendary front seat upholstery (on order) w/nice orig headrests.
Brand new P225/70R14 tires and AMD Rear Bumper.
Front Brake Drums, Wheel Cylinders and Shoes.
Battery, Alternator and Neutral Safety Switch.
Rebuilt Carb, Fuel and Oil Filters.
Plugs, Wires, Points and Tune.
New original-style mirrors.

Additional Parts Available (for addl $ and purchase of car-otherwise not for sale)
A-Body 8.75 Rear and Gears.
‘68 340 Block, Caps, Crank, X Heads and adjustable rockers.
Original Stock-Steel 14x5.5 Small bolt wheels and Plymouth Dog-Dish Caps.

THE BAD:
NEEDS DRIVERS SIDE FREEZE PLUGS (rusty, but still hold coolant as of 12/26)
Speedo needle bounces a bit at low speeds.
Choke thermostat not working or adjusted right.
Gas gauge not working and heat riser rattles a bit.
Factory AM Radio not wired, working condition unknown.
One rally wheel should be replaced (IMO) due to previous overtightening.
Evidence of moisture trapped under the floor covering. Scale removed/patched.
Fair-to-poor older paint finish as mentioned-but can look better w/some finesse
Ordinary signs of age and usage...typical scratches and imperfections.
Paint probably looks better in pics than in person, like a 10-15 footer.
A few cracks in dashpad and factory rubber floor covering.
Have the trim rings but each have dents/wrinkles.
Minor wrinkle on the tailpanel and front bumper.

As spring approaches, repairs/improvements will continue and price will be less negotiable. FOR BOTH OUR SAKE, BE AWARE...I have no problem keeping this car if I do not get offers at or near what I’m asking. I like original/survivor cars but I’m inclined to start making changes on this one if I decide to keep it...

Clean, original ‘70 Dusters are very hard to find. Here’s your chance!!!
