Hello,
I have a 70 Duster that I have converted from a column shift to a floor shift manual valve body. I would like to change out the steering column collars to floor shift collars. I also want to get rid of the shift tube and use a bearing in the end of the column but can’t because the lower collar requires the shift tube for installation. I was told and researched that the 1970 4 speed miles didn’t have a shift tube. If that is true, where can I find these collars? There are no reproductions and I can’t seem to fine any 1970 4 speed columns for sale. What other options do I have? Any help would be appreciated. Thx in advance

Check with Brewers they have conversion collars. Also search steering column conversions on this sight. There is quite a bit of information about it. I need to do the same on my 71 column.

70 Duster 4 spd had a shifter lock linkage... That requires a shift tube... Who ever told you it doesn't have one is wrong...

1970 is a one year only column for manual trans cars.

1971+ work as long as you aren't using the interlock mechanism

it’s correct that the 70 uses the shift tube for the lockout. Reproduction column collars are available new aftermarket. Check classic ind website.
Big challenge is the lockout linkage with your shift arrangement. If you used the original shift arm on the trans the lockout linkage will work. If you used a different shift arm, you will have to modify the bell crank
