70 Duster - Tire - Wheel - Back Spacing ?

I'm planning on putting Cragar SS wheels on the rear of My 70 Duster. If My measurements are correct, a 15" X 8" wheel - 4.250" back spacing - 255/60-15" tire - 8-3/4" rear - stock springs, will work without hitting, anywhere. -- Is anyone running that combination, on that body style ? -- Not necessarily Cragars - any 15" X 8" that BS, and tire.

I have seen a pick of a dart sport which is similiar to a 70 duster. It had 4.25 rear backspace rallys with 15x8 size. I once saw a 71 duster on ebay and the backspace was 4 inch even and it looked sweet. Wheel was within wheel well but very close to outside but still not sticking out. I actually asked the seller what backspace since he didn't provide that. So i think i will have some 15x8 rallys made with 4" to get the killet look!!

4.25 backspace is ok and will clear everywhere i believe. But the 4" i think was better.

Are you running sbp or lbp?

You should be able to fit some 275/60r15’s under there

Oh large bolt pattern. Yes now have 275/60/15's but on 15x7s. 4.5 backspace so this leaves some empty space between tire /wheel to outer fender. So 15x8 with 4" backspace will fill it in beautifully!!

To me ride height/stance and wheel sizing is what gives car its true character. Or its attitude!!
