I have come to the conclusion that I am never going to use this 71 340 motor that I bought with my 74 Scamp, with that being said I am looking for some help on what it is worth and what I should ask for it if I do decide to list it and sell it. Here are some of the numbers
Vin 1B203129 1971 Hamtramck Seq # 203129
Casting date 7-3-70
Block casting # 2780930-340-4
Lt head pad # GW340P33800614 1971 Windsor 340 CI Premium Fuel 3380 Day In Production 0614 Motor That Day
I have been told from other members here that the heads are known as 974 heads
the numbers on them are 3769974 1975/76 1:88/1.60 360
Intake is a EDELBROCK TORKER 340
Oil Pan is a deep sump MOROSO
The woman that I bought this from said that her husband had it built for this Scamp that I bought from her but never got around to putting it in. She told me that the motor had been sitting in her garage for over ten years un touched, so it would have to be disassembled and cleaned up before being used. I did squirt some 10W30 in the spark plug holes and let it set for a few weeks, and with the plugs out I can turn it back and forth just a little bit, but I did not want to force it. I was thinking of asking $1,500.00 for it, but if anyone has some ideas on what this motor is worth please chime in. Please look at the pictures and try to give me a good idea, everything you see is the way it will sell except for the distributor, that belongs to the Scamp. If you are interested in it you would need to pick it up in Clarkston Michigan 48346.
Thanks for any help.
Bob

Don't know if I could bring myself to buy a SBM painted Ford Blue! That's bad juju.

That sounds about right, you might get more if you remove the intake and one head so whoever comes to look at it can see and measure the bores and cam. If the bores look great and good cam and pistons you could maybe get closer to 2k

If bores are good, 1500 may be about right. It has some good and rotten (intake) parts on it.

Bores rusted or in need of attention, 1K.

Bad, it has later model heads 75+ ish on it so the 71 crowd won't like that.

I would go with the 1k because as you state it wont turn a full revolution.
