You'll have the pumpkin, gears, yoke and brakes. A-body housing shouldn't be too hard to find or too expensive.

Way too long...

You could use the brakes off the 8.25 on a BBP conversion.

Op is looking at an 8 1/4.

There was a post in the last week or so about 3 cut down to A body width 8 3/4 housings for 300.00 each IIRC, BUT THE OP would still need a center section and axles and brakes. The 100.00 for the other axle just for the brakes would be worth it IF he had all the other stuff for an 8 3/4 swap.

If you use a Sawzall and cut the quarter panels, you can fit the axle with any times that you want.
The 68-70 B body axle is already pretty wide for a Valiant or Dart.

The black Dart has a 68 Coronet 8 3/4" axle and 14 x 5.5 Rallye wheels.

The 71-72 is several inches wider and will NOT fit without cutting.

If you already bought it I guess you'll make it work. Maybe if you put some FWD wheels on the rear.
They typically have much deeper backspacing. If you can't find the right Mopar axle, I'd look for a brand f!
Either way you'll have to move the spring pads. I hope you can get your money back.

Ok, I just looked at your post again, are you just needing this so you can keep the car mobile, and not for street use? If this is true, maybe look for two space-saver wheels/tires, they're pretty skinny, and should easily clear.

Yeah a 71 B body rear axle is going to be too wide for a Valiant. The ‘68-70 B body 8 3/4 in my Duster is wide already. It barely fit 225/60/15’s on 15x7’s with a 4.25” backspace, which is a factory offset. Even the ‘68-70 rear in a Valiant would be a tough fit, you lose 1” to the quarters vs a duster, so factory offsets would be a no go. The ‘71 B rear is 3” wider than that, so another 1.5” of backspace per side. It’s not worth the the trouble unless your plan is to narrow it.

Chop the quarters and get wide fender flares . You may need west coast mirrors off a truck so they stay clean.

If you use those deep wheels from that car above and a 71 up b-body car rear. You will need to to purchase Wide Load Banners. Skyjackers are pricey, A good set of used leafs from a W350 truck and 12 inch shackles would be a more practical and affordable move. That is what I would do.

I would also crank the torsion bars down all the way. It helps keep the fries, burgers and other amenities from flying off the dash on hard accelerations. And for dual purpose if your a fisherman. Looking for night crawlers!

Best of luck . I have a Duster 8 3/4 if needed Pick up only.

Oh wow ! That rear end is what and from what car?

It’s a factory SBP 8 3/4. Those are just negative or maybe 0 offset wheels. A 71 B body rear would put the wheels another 3” further out.

And that’s a Duster, so, on a Valiant they be another 1” outside the quarters because the quarters are narrower. Even a +50 offset wouldn’t be enough.

It's actually a small bolt 8.75 from a 67 or 68 dart (been a while, i don't recall the exact year)

Those wheels are 10x14s and could probably do with a little more backspacing

The tires are N50s, so they are probably a good foot wide

This is the same car with the same axle, but 15x8s with proper backspacing and nitto drag radials 275/60s
