Because the Scamp trim is tough to find, I'm planning to use the Duster/4 door Valiant trim available through Year One (I know that they are about 3" short, but will still work). But how does it attach? I know it uses plastic clips except for the very front ones. These are also not available but I've seen some available (expensive) on ebay. I have one metal clip, bent stud, but need another.

Questions: how many studs are supposed to be on the rocker for a 71 Scamp? I have seven per side. none on the fenders. (But the ebay kit has 18 plastic clips, 9 per side, metal clips not included.)

In the front fenders, there is a hole for the metal clips, but then one hole just behind those. Then the driver side fender has a third hole further back yet, the passenger side doesn't. What is correct?

What is the correct size of the trim? 2" wide?

What should the plastic clips look like? I have a bunch from a 72 Dart, but these look different from what I've seen for a Duster or Scamp.

Photos attached of my car and the one metal clip (with a bent stud unfortunately). I ask all this because I'm doing body work repairs first but need to get the studs and holes right first for the trim later on. If anyone has photos of theirs that would help a lot. Thanks!
