71 Scamp hood release cable installation

[BW 71 scamp]

I am a pretty good mechanic and for the life of me I can't figure out the routing for this new hood release cable. The car had a new one from Classic Industres but was not installed properly.

I can't find a routing hole anywhere. I need help!

Did the '71s even have a factory inside hood release? I don't recall seeing them until about '73, but I could be mistaken. I know they've been adapted to non-stock apps, but that may be why you're having issues... Maybe this thread can help with the routing:
