On this 1972 Dart I'm working on. I'm missing the "brown" wire for the right rear stop and turn light. The missing wire seems to goes from the steering column connector up into the steering column. I'm guessing it may go to the turn signal switch for the brake and rear turn light. On this car that particular light just happens to not be working.

Never done much work on a steering column. Is there a wiring diagram or any other diagrams that show how to dis assembly the steering column? I already have the car wiring diagram.

#1 Found the brown wire tail after I removed the steering column bracket.

#2 Found a new piece of wire from the parts car that had the connector insert I needed.

#3 Ready for a but splice with a couple pieces of shrink tube on.

#4 Butt splice the two wires together

#5 soldering connection

#6 Shrink tube the splice with mama's hair drier.

Fixed and lights working!

Sometimes simpler but sometimes not complete diagrams at MyMopar

Two diagrams:

There are TWO connectors. One goes to the turn signal switch, the other goes to the ignition switch, and both have a brown wire.

The brown at the ignition switch is hot "in start" goes out through the bulkhead and feeds the coil+ side of the ballast resistor. This is the source of ignition voltage "in start."

The brown at the signal switch is going to the right rear stop/ turn filament
