Hello everyone,
I'm in need of help with finding a Trunk light switch for my 72 dart. It seems to be a one wire switch that goes into a elbow that goes into the switch itself. I'm having a hard time finding this particular one. I would think a normal door jam switch with two prongs would work, but i only have one wire going in. I guess I could ground the other? Any help on this would be very helpful.

My trunk light currently stays on regardless if it's closed or not. I can manually push the switch down and it does nothing. I can unplug the switch and nothing. I can touch that wire to a the body of the switch to try and ground it and still does nothing. I got another switch from a parts Dart that I have and it's doing the same thing. It's possible that the other switch is bad, but i'm not sure.

Thank you everyone!

EDIT to explain why i'm looking for one.

I had the same issue with my RR. Your switch is alright, it's probably over at the bulb socket, it's grounding for some reason inside the socket. I put an insulator between the socket mounting screw and the frame it is screwed to. The mounting screw can not touch the bracket, and the bracket can not touch the frame, that's why the light won't shut off, it's grounding. Don't exactly remember how I did that, I may have made a nylon washer with a shoulder on it to insulate the screw from the bracket when mounted. Sorry that I can not be clearer, but would bet that is what's going on.
Good luck!
