So I guess 72 is the only year of duster taillights that is not repopped. So if someone needs taillights for a 72, it might be a more cost effective swap to convert to either the 70/1 lights or the 73+ style.

Unless I'm just not seeing the repop 72 taillights ??

It sounds like it's a solid car, is the rear tailight panel damaged enough to merrit replacing it or grafting in sheet metal to use '73 and up tailights? Any long term plans for the car?

Lol, unfortunately, most '72 tailpanels are junk if they lived a real life. So probably, but new ones have skyrocketed in $$$, I'm debating whether to repair mine vs replacing..

Try reaching out to mexicanspec(?), see if there's a plan to do a future run, & to some racers here that pulled 'em. Good luck.
P.S. I like the long '72 style tail lamps..

I agree, I've been watching for a set of spare tail lamps for mine for years, just to have in case I need them in the future. When they do pop up, which is rarely, they are usually pretty rough and super expensive.

Honestly, if it were me, I would be tempted to take a large amount of artistic liberty with that car. As in, how would a set of some other ChryCo tailights look? Like this set 1968 Newport tailights. MOPAR 1968 CHRYSLER NEWPORT CUSTOM TAIL LIGHTS LAMP | eBay
There's nothing wrong with building a custom car if it's the most economically feasible way of doing it, well, at least to me anyway...

When I picked up my 72 a couple years ago , I was lucky an able to find 3 or 4 sets of extra tail lights with housings , most ok but few had issues , and came up with a good set to redo and kept spares , and bought a new 72 tail panel and in process of rebuilding the car as I love the 72 style , if I hadn't found the ones for 72 I would have bought a demon tail panel and went with new demon lights , as that's the better looking style for tail lights , or 70 or 71 are ok , but dislike all after those later years , and there getting harder an harder to find 72 style
