727 Manual shifter question

I have just bought a '70 Dart with a manual shift 727. It has a console, and the original shifter that is not working well. I'm looking for a better shifter for this and would like to use the console if possible. Any suggestions..

Is it forward manual or reverse manual? If its forward manual Find a 70 Cuda or Challenger slap stick and put your handle on it. They work great. It takes a little work but it can be done. Or just use the short 70 E-body shifter the way it is..

If it is 'not working well' it is probably worn linkages/pivots.
