Hey everyone. Chasing leaks out of my trans. Pretty sure I got the classic gasket issiue. Leaks from the front of pan and always a couple drips on two bolt heads in the front. All ready gone to dealer and got new style pan gasket but didn't stop the leak. My old pan looked ok but next move is to change it out. What are people using??? Cast aluminum better than a new stamped steel one? Only really concern is stopping the leak.

Have a good look where your shifter / kickdown linkage leaves the transmission, drivers side just above the pan rail. It is a very common leak location and appears from below as a pan rail leak. There are 2 seals in there to change, it requires dropping the pan and valve body to access them.

Thanks Dave. I'll take a look there. I posted some pics I think. Still figuring out this site!

d55Dave. You got it dead on. I did 2 these last 3 weeks. Looked for all the world like a pan gasket leak. Shifter detent seal changed out & everything bone dry.
