Last picture is as found in a field where it had been for probably 10 years. I do like the 75-76 grille better than the 73-74, to me it looks a bit more aggressive.

I dont think the 73+ beaks look all that bad. Its just that mopar got everything right in 70-72 that there was nowhere to go but down from there.
Yeah the bumpers were ridiculous but that was government mandated so not their fault.
Its funny, my buddy has a 76 maverick the same color as the one in post 33. If you think our bumpers stuck out far....

I always preferred the Dodge over Plymouth versions and graphics across the whole line of models. Only Dodge Dart Sports had the twin snorkle scoop also. Got a '74 Duster around 1997-'98, but converted it to a Dart Sport after a several years. Started as a '74 Dart Sport but ended up trimmed out as a 1975 because it had a heavier shipping weight favorable to my needs in IHRA Stock. Always thought the one-year-only full tailpanel trim was cool too. Lightened the car by 20-25 lbs with a Dart Lite hood and trunk (aluminum underside bracing). This allowed me to put that weight back as ballast, to meet minimum weight rules, where it would do the most good (the back). It won me a lot of races before IHRA dropped class racing.

Sheet, I would trade my 65 Hemi Belvedere for a nice, clean A body with A/C, power steering and brakes.
Not interested in going fast anymore. Looking for comfort in my old age.

75 in the brush, the brush has been dealt with but the car is sadly still there waiting for its turn after the valiant is done.

Thenks...I like the 76 lenses better. Very few people seem to coment on the fact they are 76 lenses....wonder if a lot of people don't realize the 76 lenses are amber.

I am feeling old with this thread and I had a discussion the other day about these cars with a local mopar guy. When I got my driver's license at age 18 (yes, I got a late start) in 2004 these 73 and up cars seemed to everywhere. I started with B and E bodies and it seemed like even those were around. When I bought my first duster in 06, I remember you could look in the newspaper classifieds and actually have a selection of 73 and up cars and they were relatively inexpensive.
I bought a 74 yellow duster for 1500. Bucks. It was originally a slant car but I bought it with a mean 360 that was already in it and nice. It was overall a really nice car then.

Now In 2021, you never see them in the classifieds or even on Craigslist anymore, at least not around here. The ones that do pop up seem to be really rough, half in the toilet kind of car or a super high priced so called show car for tens of thousands of dollars.

What happened to the Joe dirt cars that were complete and ran and priced very reasonable. Days gone by, I guess.

Comfort is nice, been thinking about going down to the family home and getting my mom's old 73 Imperial out and get it moving again.
It has not been started in over 15 years, been sitting there since she passed away.
Dad keeps telling me I should get it out and run it some.
