Looks pretty clean under there... You're going to have to keep some mirrors in the trunk to throw underneath it when you go to car shows...
I'm just trying not to screw up to much. Been a long time since I did this. Gas line is good but I know when I move to Fitech it's gotta go anyways. Hoping to see you do that dash you have for Duster soon. Curious how it works out. Honestly just want to drive car in descent shape to see what else I want to change. I would like buckets but wondering what modern bucket seats work on these cars.

My Dad came over to see my progress today. He loves talking about the cars he sold. He was manager salesmen Chrysler 60s 70s and 80s. Talking about these cars he shows me things they would see the factory do and laugh about it. He still he is amazed my car survived this long.

It would be winter after next before I get to that dash.. it would be part of a major overhaul of the Duster and I have no plans of another massive winter project like this last one this next year...

Yeah the truck was pretty big project for sure.

Got the undercoat sprayed out. Will remove all the tape and start assembly. I can't do the exhaust until I do the drive shaft. I don't want any issues running it back without it all in place. I got a guy owns a shop thought about taking to him to weld it up once I have it all tacked up.

My knuckles are raw sigh will lift engine up get them out pull the starter and order a mini. Still need to pop steering linkage apart to pull. May as well order the front end kit. Will setup ebrake this week later in week I need a brake. I'm singing the I hate headers song what a joke!

You have a welder to tack it together but you're not going to weld it?..
I know I'm a chicken **** lol. I do have a certified welder lives with us. Maybe time to call in son in law LMAO.

It's not like your welding down the side of your car or something it's just the exhaust underneath if there's anywhere to practice this would be the time... Keep going to there's no holes LOL and the disc Sander is your friend clean it up..
What I did with my 99 dollar Harbor Freight welder and I think it looks awesome! I clean mine all up with mineral spirits after smoothing everything down and took some $5 high heat spray paint and painted it all..

I did do all my sheet metal and body work but I hope the Exhaust is far easier as it won't be thin gauge stuff and new not fixing rust.

On the header front the engine is lifted and it's all loose. Need to pull the steering linkage and out it all comes. That's all a mess will be ordering my firm feel and PST parts soon for front end. Gotta strip and blast all the stuff and repaint.

When I went to remove the crusty old headers, after screwing with them for about 20 minutes and remembering all that was involved with the installation, I took out the saw-zs-all, put on a Torch blade and they were out in 10 minutes. Not sure what's worse installing or removing? Probably installing as you try not to nick, ding or scratch the new ones...at least till you have to dent a tube for the steering box...

I can neither confirm nor deny it was used.

I was might tempted to go that route with the old crappy headers on my car, but cooler heads and a lack of blades for the sawzall prevailed. Lol

Headers are out. Front end parts ordered. Pulling the K member will put new headers in after its out and new starter Dakota mini in. Plan to tank the k member get the firm feel kit check the terrible welds clean that up. Also will get the plates for the lower control arms may as well. Wondering about HDK and scrapping this old garbage just a thought keep 360 saw a few builds 550 HP not stroked very intriguing. But I didn't do anything on the spring relocation and such not sure I would have tires to enjoy it lol.

Front suspension stripped one stubborn tie rod bolt passenger side sigh left. Hopefully that will be out tonight! Parts coming from all over again. Someone take my credit away lol. The welds look terrible on the K member like a five year old booger welding.

"The welds look terrible on the K member like a five year old booger welding."

Sounds like 100 point factory restoration quality!

I will clean this up really good and redo those. I had a K member go bad slant 6 Duster. Was terrifying. Even the weld for sleeve went bad where lower arm bolt went through. I had the sheriff pull me over and ask if this car was safe to drive......

K member out and the passenger header fell in place if your redoing the front end do the headers then. If you old headers use the sawzaw he is your best friend here. I still have to clean up head exhaust gasket and such and I have parts in bound. Heading up to car wash to clean this K up fix the welds and get it tanked and paint it. I will let the guys at local alignment shop endure the bushings hard pass lol.
