Hello. I just registered. Very nice site. I'm considering buying my first ever A body and was wondering about production #'s on the 74 Duster 360 4spd cars. I have found that there were about 281,000 total of all Dusters in 74 and a little over 3900 were 360 cars. How many 4 spds though? Thanks!

I think I have the info at home.I'll try and get it to you Monday if somebody doesn't step up.Here is my 360 clone I'm building for the purestock drags

586 Duster 360's produced with the 4 speed, per Galen Govier anyway.

Car's looking good, Seth. Can't wait to see it lift the front tires at the strip. :thumleft:

I almost said "DionR will chime in any minute" LOL!

Lift the front tires? You did read where I said purestock right LOL!
Going to tackle the wiper system and rear end/spring swap this weekend.Starting out with MP XHD springs and a 3.55 suregrip 8 1/4.

I have {74 duster 360 4 spd} one of those cars. body is ruff but fender tags are there. motor and trans are gone. Car could be for sale. Block was cracked bad but rest of motor I have.

My pockets aren't deep enough to run factory appearing but this combo would be pretty good for it.

Thanks for the info. Going to check out a #'s matching 74 Duster tomorrow. 360 4spd 321 SG PS,PB Burnished red color with white stripe and black bucket interior. All original paint and int. Very nice body. Can drive home with some small rust holes in lower qtrs front and rear. Opinions on what to offer for it? Like new inside trunk. Missing nothing. Oh, also original Broadcast sheet and window sticker too.

Sorry, I don't have a good idea of value.

There is one for sale on here that is very smilar - thread. He's asking $5900 now, but hasn't sold it. Might be because of location or something, though.

That sounds like a good description of the car on here for sale, I'd look if it was closer to me since I have a soft spot for 74 360 cars.

We are discussing that right now. I believe we are very close to completeing the deal. My son and I went to look at the car last Saturday before the snow storm hit. Jim, the owner, went over the car very well pointing out the good and bad aspects. It needs a resto but very doable. Would like to add an "A" body to my collection of B and E's. I see you have one as well.

I looked it over pretty good at the purestock drags in September and it would be a good car to restore.Car runs pretty good too!give me a shout if you need any info parts etc.Walton is not that far fromMarion LOL!

Thanks. I'll drive it over your way if the deal goes thru. Looks like it will. Just waiting for some of this snow to subside. It's #'s matching with all the documents. It will be my next resto project late this year. Just finishing up my 68 Super Bee 383 4spd car with 3.55 SG. I also have a 70 440+6 Roadrunner AT with 4.10 Dana, 71 Cuda 340 4spd 3.91, 69 Bee with 383 AT, 3.91 and a 72 Barracuda. All with Window stickers too except the 69Bee. All #'s matching. I drive all of them too. This A body Duster will round out the collection nicely when finished.

I do, but it's been a long haul with it. The one you are looking at (assuming it's the same one as is on the forum) is much more complete than mine was.

It is the same one. Looks pretty good but has some restoration needed in quite a few places. It's a drive and restore car, which is what I like. Your right, it is very complete but being close to 40 years old, it has the typical no shine on the bumpers and pity tail lamp housings etc.... Nice project. It'll be fun. Did they put pistol grips in these cars like the B and E bodies? I noticed this one just has the ball and stick.

Does that mean you bought it?

No A-Body ever came with a pistol grip from the factory that I am aware of. The non-console 71 up B-Body one works well.

I made one to fit my car because I couldn't afford the real thing. Still needs to be cleaned up and tweaked to the right, but wasn't that hard to do.

Yes I have. Just waiting for his title to get to him so I can go pick it up and complete the exchange of money and car with title. Hopefully next weekend. Or sooner. I'm very anxious to get it home.

I thought that LateBBody shifter would look good in it.

.........I have a 74 360 HP 4 gear car............panther pink........kim..........

Factory 4 speed car? Original 360 car? Factory Panther Pink?

Didn't think they even offered that color after 71 or so.
