The right rear brake on my 74 Duster keeps locking up. Every time I use the brake pedal the right rear won't release. It seems to let go if I back up for a few inches. I have had everything replaced from the vacuum booster to the brake shoes. I now have over a thousand bucks in the brakes and am getting fed up! I am thinking about just taking off the automatic adjusters. I remember doing this on a Fury with dragging brakes once about fifty years ago and it solved the problem back then. Any thoughts or comments?

Well for starters it's possible the adjuster is not the problem. T

Take off the wheel and drum and look at it. You might be able to see what is wrong. It could be a leaky axle seal or wheel cylinder. Doesn't take much. Have you done any brake work lately?

Like you, I screwed around with a rear brake hanging up for several weeks. Did not look at the obvious and found the E-brake cable was stuck.Maybe ?
