Really excited to see my '74 with shiny paint once again. New windshield seal too.

Now I need to find a power brake booster. It seems the diaphragm has dried up. Can't find any in the country though, and nobody offering to rebuild. Is there one from another model that I can find and adapt?

We need to know weather you have drum or factory disc. The boosters are different between the two.

Good point, thanks. It's a factory disc car.

              Gorgeous, clean machine!
Congrats on a fresh coat of paint...and congrats on showing some restraint and good taste.

I hope you have many happy, healthy miles, Chris!

O'Reilly shows a reman booster. Might want to check them out.

Yeah, I called them. Not only did they not have any in the country, their reman supplier didn't have any and had no plans to take any in.

Try looking up Prior/Southwest, they are a rebuilder. If they can't help you, onward with your search.

Manual brakes work fine, drum or disc.

I totally agree. I think many of the folks on this forum would agree too. However- manual brakes can be scary for people who have never used them. If you have multiple drivers who might take the wheel, it could be cheap insurance.

My pops recently got his '67 GTX back on the road, 100% stock. That's easily my favorite car that I've ever driven...but I'll be damned if stopping a big block B-Body with manual drums didn't make my heart pound for the first couple tries...and I have manual brakes in my Dart (4 wheel disk) so theoretically, I should be more prepared than most.

Our brains calibrate pretty quickly but there's still those first few stops...
I don't second guess anyone who wants a booster.

I have had overthe decades dozens of BB 66-70 B Bodies mostly, all were manual except the 2 nd gen chargers. 99% were maunal steering also. I still prefer both manual, but I drive out in the sticks! But I learned to drive on tractors, cars with several pedals, stuff from back in the 40's. Yep I am an old fart!
