90 deg adaptor back to conventional

I would like to eliminate my 90 degree oil filter adaptor, exactly what parts are required to do this, any seals or gaskets required? I understand that the plate that attaches to the block can be modified for greater flow, is this recommended if so how to??

you will need 2 gaskets, the center threaded peice and the flat plate. I have seen extra holes drilled in the plate before, but I would think that the filter would have more restriction that the 6 (I think) holes that are in the plate original. I have never heard of any proof of drilling extra holes hurting or helping though.
