So i have 904 transmission with lokar kickdown cabble. Problem is the trans kickdown lever dosent fully go back when i let off thortle. if i crawl under the car i can push the lever like half inc towards the engine. Im thinking of adding spring to lever. but should kickdown lever be completly towards the engine when no thortle is pressed?
or do i need to adjust "lever rest position" to where i start feel pressure when moving it toward rear off the car.
tried to check lokar instructions but they only speak about wot adjustment.
Thanks :)

There can be ratio differences, like the carb linkage moves 1.5 inches (number I pulled out of my butt) and the lever on the trans can move 1.75 inches.

the factory setup has a spring to keep the linkage tight to the carb linkage. I don't know if that is all the way forward or not?

Yes add a spring to pull lever forward to stay in contact with cable movement to get proper closed throttle up shifts.
This applies to both cable or rod style linkages.
