904 trans shifts early

Hi just wondering I have a 68 Plymouth barracuda with a 904 transmission and a 318 out of a 73 dart It has been rebuilt with less than 3000 miles on it. The transmissions shifts quite a bit early do I need to screw the leankage in out or are there any other suggestions???

You probably need to lengthen the K/D linkage. The correct way to set it is:

1. Push throttle all the way back
2. Adjust K/D linkage to be full back as well

This should solve your problem. Otherwise, it's in your trans. Have the shop that rebuilt it look at it.
