i have a 74 Duster. Car is running an MSD coil that is less than a year old. Already changed the ballast and ECM as I carry extras. Still no spark. It has been having an issue where sometimes it won't start when I first crank it and I have to turn the ignition switch all the way off then crank it again and it fires right up. Did try to see if it has spark using a screwdriver and sometimes it gives one spark when I release the ignition from starting to on. Please help! Thank you!

either the pick up coil air gap is off....

just to see if you have power at the coil or the ballast resistor....you might have a bad connection at the bulk head where the wires go into the firewall....

i chased that problem for a few days..

Is there a way to jump the ignition just so I can get home?

I had a coil do that to me last year, my son borrowed it and it would not restart, I drove and there to look at it and it fired right up, drove it home and parked it for 5 minutes and had my tools in hand, stepped in the truck and it did not start, looked at all my grounds on the ecu and everything checked out, I put a used coil on it and it has never gave me a problem. hope you figure this out soon.

If I jump the coil and nothing changes, probably the coil? I assume I run a wire from positive to positive?
