Freshly rebuilt. A833. It takes 2 hands to get in reverse and 2 to get it back out. Any expert opinions on what needs to be done? 1-2-3-4 shifts are fine

I had the same exact issue right after a rebuild. Lossen up the 10 side cover bolts enough for it to allow the cover to move slightly. Move trans in and out of reverse and it will free it up, Then tighten down the bolts. Easy fix. Someone here helped me out with the issue. I'll look for the pic he sent me.

When you loosen the cover put the transmission in reverse then put the cover down and tighten it
