A-body BB exhaust manifolds.

I went to look at an original set of a-body big block exhaust manifolds today,
They had no date cast in them and no part number cast in either manifold, they were in really nice shape, no grind marks or cracks, any idea what’s up with no numbers. He also claimed they were 440 a-body manifolds, what’s the difference with them,Thanks

440 manifolds have different part numbers than 383s, and are much rarer.
With no numbers they are probably worth a third or less than with numbers

Edit: 440 manifolds would have late 68/69 date code. 383s could be dated from late 66 (for 67 cars) thru 69.
Without date or part#/casting#, I wouldn't know what they are.
REAL 440/A-bodie manifolds are worth several thousand bucks.

Seems like the dealership replacement manifolds didn't have numbers cast on the outside but were stamped very lightly...the 340 ones were

I have a 68 NOS 383 DS manifold I bought from a dealer. It has the casting numbers. I would be suspect if your supposed A-Body exhaust manifolds do not have the casting numbers. Pictures?

They do sell grinders.

I'm guessing cracks that were fixed.
Driver side one looks like it has remnants of the casting # on it.

There was an extremely nice set at Carlisle for 14 or 16 hundred.
I would have bought them if I was a rich hoarder who likes to take parts out of circulation, lol.

They were nice, no remnants of a grinder anywhere near these, raised pad on the drivers manifold, but nothing was ever on it, they are a mystery, maybe they are a very early set or a very late set.

Did they reproduce the BB A-body manifolds? What is the difference between the BB A-body drivers side 383 and 440 manifolds? Lots of questions, thanks for any answers.
