Personally I would just leave it off but it does make it easier to hold the pedal down at a traffic light,
It also slows down the release of the pedal.

what style pressure plate you going to use? I run a Long style and the 340 overcenter spring is too strong, sometimes the pedal does not return enough, going to see if I can get something weaker at the hardware store

I ran the hays borg & beck style in my 340 and never liked the over center spring, I doubt that you will find anything weaker that would even work, that is a very serious spring.
