With all the talk of break-in oils these days, I happened to read the fine print on a Crane cam card from 1974 and it recommended the use of Kendall oil during cam break-in. For those who don't know, Kendall is now Brad Penn.....'the green stuff'.... still oft recommended for break-in. The more things change, the more they stay the same.... seems like this oil has been on the 'break-in radar' for half a century, long before the zinc reduction thing.

I used it just once before BTW, and durned if I don't have an old can on the shelf. LOL :happy3::happy3:

I've been using it for close to 30 years

a good friend of mine that ran kendall in a 9 sec vega, broke his crank with the front wheels about 16-18" in the air, leaving the starting line in noble ok. one time. he didn`t think it was funny when I told him the "back then", $6 a qt. oil didn`t look any better layin out on the ground than my $2 a qt. oil !! It was some good stuff tho

I'ts Cheap Insurance !! I love the stuff. I even run Brad Penn after break in.
