Hey all!

I was cleaning up the 65 Barracuda I just purchased a couple weeks ago to track down a leak and noticed the torque converter gear was visible. Just the smaller plate the rest was there. Upon further inspection I also noticed on the drivers side of the cover plate I am still able to see the gear. Should that be possible? Or is that not normal? I added some photos. It’s an A904LA transmission. Thanks for the help!

Someone has modified that shield near the starter area. The small shield at the bottom is missing also. It is safe to run it that way but would be better to replace both.

Is the one for this year a full cover plate that gets covered by the starter and has no small drain cover? Or does it have the small drain cover? I want to try to keep it as period original as possible. I uploaded pictures of both options. Thanks!

Not sure which is "correct" but the two piece allows you to drain the torque converter.
