My 69 Dart had a newly built A999 in it when I bought it a few years back. The highest stall converter I could find was a 2200-2500. It stalls at 2000 and flashes about 2400. The 340 in the car doesn't start making real power until 3500 or so. So the problem is a need a 26 spline converter with a 3500 or so stall and I can't find one. Any ideas as to where I can get one? All help appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

You will almost definitely lose your lock up capability if you increase your stall thst much. Higher stall lock up converters get thicker and you will run out of room in the bell housing. Cope and probably others sell a spacer to go between the block and bell housing to add the required space. I chose to forego my lock up because I didn't want the hassle. There may be thinner high stall lock up converters out there, but I did not find them. I'd love to hear if they're available somewhere.

Contact any of the above mentioned converter builders and give them all the information about your car they ask for. Given the right information they will build you a converter suited best for your application. I can't speak for all builders, but I do know that high stall lockup converters are made. A quality converter isn't going to be inexpensive, but I've seen enough converters apart to tell you that you get what you pay for. JMHO

So I called Precision and $800 later I have exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again for the help gentlemen.
